Newsflash for Christ Alone Church, 07/27/2011
Newsflash for Christ Alone!
Romans 8:28 is true: God works to the good in all things for those who love the Lord. Rev. Linda has had an interesting week, injuring her knee while moving a table. She will have arthroscopic surgery on Wednesday to repair torn cartilage. So Sunday's worship will be much different that we have planned. She said, "It seems that everyone has just been wonderful at stepping up and offering their help without any reservations. What a blessing to have a congregation that pulls together with such willingness. This is indeed the body of Christ in action. On Sunday our B team will be God's A Team. (Remember the enthusiasm of the Packers after the strike and Samkon Gado's first touchdown, kneeling and lifting up the football to God's Glory. He was a Nigerian walk-on who had never owned his own football.)"
Sunday's worship will begin with Julie Herber as pianist. The Call to Worship will be a dramatic portrayal of Exodus 3-4, the call of Moses done by Jim Castle and Nate Kraftcheck. Jenny Kraftcheck will do the Children's Moment. Jon Brassfield will preach on Mark 12:29-31 and Matthew 28:19-20. His sermon title is: "I Meant What I Said 100% ... Non-Participation is Not An Option." We will bless our Mission team as it heads out to Joplin Missouri. We will be blessed by the leadership of these wonderful people. Keep them all in your prayers.
Keep in mind that next Saturday, August 6 is our Focus on Mission congregational planning and prioritizing event. 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. With focus on listening for God's guidance, a keynote report by Pastor Ted relating to the missional needs of Allouez, Nancy Hayes will lead us into a lively prioritizing and brainstorming session, where we will come out with our congregations top priorities for missional involvement in Allouez. It will be productive, fun, and Spirit-filled. Please make every effort to be there. If you have not been already asked to sit at a specific table, a sign up will be passed around in worship on Sunday.
Summer seems to be whizzing by! May our glorious God be fully present to you each day.

Reminder: Focus on Mission Meeting is August 6
Remember our "Focus on Mission" meeting is August 6 from 8-12 -- based on what we learned during The Great Giveaway on Saturday, there are very real and immediate needs in the neighborhood God has placed us in. Please pray and attend this meeting!
